Thank you to everyone - we could not have got to this point without you. Today the The Labour Party acted on their promise and introduced the bill for Martyn's Law for its first reading in parliament. I will be heading to London with Stuart for the second reading, which is due on Monday 14 October 2024.

I want to extend my sincere congratulations to the new Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, and I look forward to working with the Labour government to make Martyn's Law happen.

Although #martynslaw was included in the King's Speech last year, this time it feels very different. I feel that we've overcome another hurdle and I'm feeling optimistic and confident that the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will introduce the bill to parliament soon.

A strange day for hashtag#martynslaw with rumours circulating about a potential general election (now confirmed). We finished the latest part of the campaign with Figen Murray OBE meeting with the Prime Minister and Sir Keir Starmer.

We've officially walked more than half way from Manchester to London - less than 100 miles until we arrive at 10 Downing Street to remind Rishi Sunak about his commitment to introduce hashtag #martynslaw

Day 6 - short day today. Only 11 miles. Accompanied today by the brilliant Cath Hill who drove from Lancaster at 6 am today just to walk with us. Tomorrow we will have reached the half point moment and from then on it will hopefully get much easier as we can count down the days.

It is the end of Day Four and we are done for the day. 22km (around 13 miles) and resting for the remainder of the day. Long day ahead tomorrow and also Sunday and had an epic long day yesterday doing around 18 miles.

That was a very hard day. Seventeen miles in heat and hills.

That's day two of 16 ticked off as we continue our walk for Martyn's Law. As expected, today was challenging as we walked from Disley to the Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre, which included (too many!) big hills.

Today was incredibly emotional as Figen Murray OBE stood on the spot where her son, martyn Hett, died.

This time next week I'll be standing on the spot where my son, Martyn Hett, died alongside 21 other innocent victims in the Manchester Arena terror attack.

After five years of campaigning, commitments from multiple Prime Minister's and Secretaries of State, Figen Murray OBE will launch the latest round of the hashtag #MartynsLaw campaign on Tuesday 7 May, urging the Government to introduce the counter terror legislation that will improve protections in public spaces.

It's about time the Government introduces Martyn's Law to make public spaces safer and more secure…
