DAY 8 UPDATE

We've officially walked more than half way from Manchester to London - less than 100 miles until we arrive at 10 Downing Street to remind Rishi Sunak about his commitment to introduce hashtag#martynslaw

It has been wonderful to have so many people come from all over the country to join us on this walk, and I'm grateful for the generosity and kindness of all those who have helped us to get to this point - I'll be sending my thanks properly after the 22nd May.

It seems crazy to think that 7 days ago I stood on the spot where my son died in the Manchester Arena terror attack. It even more crazy that despite commitments and reassurances from multiple Prime Minister's, that I am having to walk 200 miles.

So far I have recorded 300,706 steps, walking in sunshine and pouring rain.

Tonight we've been invited to have dinner at the Coventry Building Society Arena who have very kindly put the Martyn's Law logo on the big screen. It is a reminder that the security industry supports this legislation.

I want as many of you to join me at Marble Arch at 9am on Wednesday 22 May as I walk the final 3 miles to 10 Downing Street. We'll have security and police to support us on that final leg of the journey.
